Wicked

Wicked has been my favorite musical for about 10 years now. I found out about it from one of my hyperfixations at the time, a cop show, and one of its actors also played Glinda in the Dutch version of the musical. I knew all songs by heart, first in Dutch and then in English. I basically knew how everything went, without ever having seen the musical itself. I forced my friends to learn the songs and re-enact the whole musical with me. Those were great times. And I finally got to see it on this trip to London! My friends -the ones that were forced to play it with me- made it my late birthday surprise, which I'm so grateful to them for. I totally didn't expect it. They lied really well, haha.

We arrived at the Victoria Palace Theater, and I was so excited! I was sure I was gonna cry at some point during the show, being so overwhelmed and feeling like the Wicked-obsessed kid I was so many years ago, and still secretly am. We ordered some drinks -my friends taking the special pink Glinda cocktail- and looked at the merch stands. Eventually we made it to the big hall, and found our seats. I was so in awe of the set, and our seats were really great too. The green sparkling on the big map of Oz and the sides of the stage filled with the magnificent decors. i couldn't wait for the show to start!

Then it started. Familiar songs filled my ears. I was ecstatic. I can't even describe how it felt. My inner child was so happy. I was so happy. I didn't cry, but my heart was filled with love. I also realized that I actually didn't know everything that happened. For the first act I mostly did, but a lot of the 2nd act was very new to me, which was exciting! I left the theatre with a full heart and a smile on my face. Another dream of mine accomplished. Thank you W and L

Here's some pins i got at the merch stands:

This night was one to... not forget... It was chaotic, let's say. I won't go too much into detail, cuz I'd just feel like shit again, but I'll just talk about the positives. I arrived very early and got to see some of the sound-checking. Then I saw Evanora Unlimited walking about, the artist who I came all the way here for! I asked him when he was on, to notify my friends who would be coming later. He was very sweet. After this, he was unloading merch next to me and I asked him if he took card payments. He said he only took Paypal and my heart sank. I didn't have any cash with me and no Paypal, cuz I got hacked on it once and vowed to never use it again. I accepted it though and just sat down again.

After this, I don't know how, but we ended up talking about how I could pay again, and he said he'd give me a cassette tape if I got him 2 shots of tequila. Of course, I took him up on the offer and bolted to the bar. I got the tape! Of all the tapes he printed, one is recorded over a Polish guy reciting his will. It's kind of like the lottery: you get one chance to maybe get the special one! I picked a random one and was as happy as can be. (It wasn't the special one...) After this I also asked if I could get a picture of him with my mum's old digital camera, and he said yes! Here's the picture:

He then asked if I wanted a selfie with him as well and of course I said yes, haha! So here's that one as well! (I look so serious, and you can also see I was blushing hard as hell. I always get so nervous. I also look pretty young here... Didn't know if I wanted to show my face here, but it's my site! and I like this picture a lot! It's something I'm pretty proud of haha):

He was so nice even when I asked him so many questions, haha! I also asked him if he could sign the tape I got, since I saw him sign others' tapes as well. Of course, he was nice enough to do so! Here's a picture of that as well:

After this, I waited for the gig to actually start. I got a good spot at the front and the first DJ started. He was pretty interesting... Not a lot to say about it tho. Next was Ушко (Ushko). She was an artist i listened to before the show and quite enjoyed. Her set was great! After her were Heartcoregirl and David Kratomberg/oatmilkandcodeine. Both were so great! Here are some pictures of the three aforementioned artists!:

After these artists was special guest, Harto Falion! So happy he was at this show! Here's some pics I got of him:

I'll stop here with recounting my experience of the show, because after this, it only goes downhill. I also don't have any more pictures... Thanks for reading!
